The RUHR GAMES have been inspiring young people in the Ruhr region for ten years: young people from the region and other European countries compete in Olympic sports as well as popular trend and action sports.

Culture

WE STAGE AND CELEBRATE URBAN ART AND CULTURE IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INDUSTRIAL BACKDROP.

Music and urban art are just as much a part of the festival's DNA as sport. Live performances and interactive activities make the event a truly memorable experience. In recent years, the RUHR GAMES has welcomed national headliners such as Ski Aggu, Cro, Giant Rooks and Leoniden against an impressive industrial backdrop.

International Youth Exchange

YOUNG PEOPLE FROM ACROSS THE WORLD WILL MEET TO CELEBRATE SPORTS AND CULTURAL DIVERSITY, EXCHANGE IDEAS, AND SHARE THEIR PASSION FOR MOVEMENT.

In July 2025, the RUHR GAMES took place as a festival edition as part of the world's largest multi-sport event of the year, the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games.

For four days, thousands of visitors enjoyed top sporting performances, live concerts, cultural highlights, hands-on activities and workshops, international exchange and lively interaction on the grounds of the Jahrhunderthalle in Bochum.
